【摘要】:ThispartofISO14855specifiesamethodforthedeterminationoftheultimateaerobicbiodegradabilityofplastics,basedonorganiccompounds,undercontrolledcompostingconditionsbymeasurementoftheamountofcarbondioxideevolvedandthedegreeofdisintegrationoftheplasticattheendofthetest.Thismethodisdesignedtosimulatetypicalaerobiccompostingconditionsfortheorganicfractionofsolidmixedmunicipalwaste.Thetestmaterialisexposedtoaninoculumwhichisderivedfromcompost.Thecompostingtakesplaceinanenvironmentwhereintemperature,aerationandhumidityarecloselymonitoredandcontrolled.Thetestmethodisdesignedtoyieldthepercentageconversionofthecarboninthetestmaterialtoevolvedcarbondioxideaswellastherateofconversion.Subclauses8.6and8.7specifyavariantofthemethod,usingamineralbed(vermiculite)inoculatedwiththermophilicmicroorganismsobtainedfromcompostwithaspecificactivationphase,insteadofmaturecompost.Thisvariantisdesignedtoyieldthepercentageofcarboninthetestsubstanceconvertedtocarbondioxideandtherateofconversion.TheconditionsdescribedinthispartofISO14855maynotalwayscorrespondtotheoptimumconditionsforthemaximumdegreeofbiodegradationtooccur.
