【摘要】:ThispartofBS434providesrecommendationsandguidanceonthegeneralusageofcationicbituminousemulsionsonroadsandotherpavedareas.TheemulsionscoveredconformtoBS434-1,orBSEN13808(modifiedandnon-modified),orareproprietaryemulsions.ThisBritishStandardprovidesguidanceonwherethevariousprocessesusingbituminousemulsionsaresuitableforuseandindicateswheresuitabledesignproceduresmaybefound.Adviceisalsogivenonthosesituationsinwhichtheprocessesareunsuitableormarginallysuitable.Wherethereisanoption,performanceoroutcomespecificationshavebeenusedratherthaninputorrecipespecifications.ThisfollowsthegeneralapproachadoptedforEuropeanStandardsandthegeneralmovetowardsperformancespecificationsbymanyspecifiers.Anionicemulsionsarecoveredonlyforexceptionalcircumstances.Cationicemulsionshavebeenspecifiedformostpurposes,althoughinsomecasesananionicalternativemaybeused.
